Registration for co-op begins on June 13th, and will be first come, first served, with teachers registering a day ahead of the rest. Classes will be held at the Gospel Lighthouse, in Hudson Falls, each Friday from September 25th-April 9th.

Co-op is a great opportunity for homeschooling families to pool their resources and their abilities to enrich the studies and the relationships of their homeschooling kiddos.  It's a chance to experience teaching under someone besides mom and dad while still having parents very  close and very involved.  It's a chance to build relationships with other children, and with other families, and to encourage and to be encouraged.  Parents volunteer to teach classes, we all work together, and our kids benefit!

We will be meeting each Friday, except for a few holiday weeks, at The Gospel Lighthouse in Hudson Falls.  You can choose to participate in all of the classes offered, or just a few. All that we ask is that when your children are at co-op, unless you have made specific other arrangements with the steering committee, you are available to help.  In order for co-op to run smoothly, we need teachers, classroom helpers, hall monitors, “study hall” monitors, and a clean up crew.  By each filling a need we are able to keep our costs low and our cooperation high.  The only charge for co-op as a whole is $10 per child for the entire year, with a cap of $40 per family.  Individual classes may have a textbook to buy or a small additional fee for materials, but all effort is made to keep costs low.  If fees present a financial difficulty to your family, please speak to a member of the steering committee.

The age groups for each class are given as a guideline.  If you feel that your child would enjoy and do well in a different age group for a particular class, feel free to register him or her for that class. Let’s keep communication lines open, however, and if a teacher feels that a child is struggling, let’s work together to find a good solution.   Teachers have first opportunity to register their students, and then general registration will open on June 13th at the GGFCH Knowledge Fair, via our website or by mail.  Classes will be filled on a first come first served basis, with all registration closing on August 7, at the GGFCH Summer Picnic.

Unless marked otherwise, classes are slated to run for the duration of the co-op year , with pre-determined breaks for holidays.

This co-op exists under the leadership of Greater Glens Falls Christian Homeschoolers, a local chapter of New York State LEAH (Loving Education at Home).  As such, all participating members of the co-op also maintain membership in GGFCH and LEAH, or of another local LEAH chapter.  All members have reviewed and signed the Statements of Purpose, Faith, and Dress & Conduct of GGFCH or other LEAH chapter.  All of these statements, and all of the guidelines to follow, are put into place to help to ensure that we are providing a safe, God honoring place for our children to learn.  These documents are found elsewhere on this site, and we are welcoming new members on an ongoing basis.

In order to create and maintain an environment where learning can occur, and students can practice respect for authority, and be able to enjoy all of the benefits of this co-op, it is important to establish some basic, agreed upon guidelines.  These guidelines, and some more fun forms that need to be filled out and brought in to co-op can be found here: Co-op Handbook

Fill out the required Child Profile sheets for your kiddos online here:

GGFCH Co-op Student Profile(This form needs to be completed and returned, one for each child.)As we are a diverse group of homeschoolers and each family may have a different perspective on homeeducation, as well as our expectations of co-op, please take a few minutes to complete a Student Profileform for each of your children. This information will assist teachers as they work to create a productiveand fun learning environment for their students.
